I start by first going through a comprehensive assessment with you, so I understand what your relationship and counselling needs are. We will then discuss your goals from our therapy work together. Following this, I design a relationship counselling plan for you and your specific situation. The plan will include a clear outline of the topics we will cover and a timeline of our work together.
I believe education is a very important part of therapy, otherwise, you may learn what you’ve done wrong in the past, but not know how to fix it. While it is helpful to gain insights into yourself, without new knowledge and skills, it’s useless in helping you change your future.
Then we will begin working together. During our time together, I will regularly check-in with you and ensure we are moving towards our goals. At the end of our set time, we will assess your progress. If you want and require further sessions, I will devise a new plan with new material and strategies to cover based on newly discussed objectives. If you have met your goals, then wonderful, you are on your way to a new, healthier relationship future!
